I enjoy my dentistry and offer a full range of general dental techniques including wisdom teeth extraction, implants, crown & bridges, treatment for sleep apnoea & snoring, cosmetic dentistry, mouth guards.
I graduated from Otago University, NZ in 1981 and worked in Mosgiel before practising in England .
In England I acquired many years experience in the advanced techniques of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. I became entranced with implants and completed “The Branemark System” dental implant course, and one of their surgical courses at Guy’s Hospital, London. A trip to Sweden enabled me to gain further expertise in this field. I have more recently attended conferences in NZ and Australia. I have been carrying out implant procedures since 1994. This training has also helped me to become proficient at wisdom tooth extraction.
In the last 6 years I have worked extensively in sleep dentistry by making devices for treatment of sleep apnoea and snoring. I often work closely with the local sleep clinics and attended a sleep dentistry conference in Melbourne in 2015.
For the last 8 years I have been the Canterbury NZ Dental Association emergency roster dentist for Xmas and New Year. Emergency dentistry is different from usual dentistry and I enjoy the change in routine.
I have practised as a dentist in Christchurch, at my surgery since 1996. I continue to keep up to date with the newest treatments and procedures and I continue to strive to provide the best dentistry for my patients.
In my own time I love outdoor adventures in the mountains, fishing (there’s definitely no problem with the fish numbers depleting :() and cooking & eating all kinds of wild
